Untried Polish Challenge-Glitter

Awww, it's the last installment of this challenge. This has been so much fun, and has gotten so many Untrieds into the Tried column.

I chose to use one of the new Hard Candy line, Sweet Tooth.
This is one coat over just my regular base of OPI Matte Nail Envy. It is a few colors of glitter, both matte and shiny, in a pale blue base.

The rest of my fingers, I put down two coats of OPI I Think In Pink before my one coat of Sweet Tooth. This really pulled out the pink glitter. I liked it better than the plain.
So, I put one coat of I Think In Pink over Sweet Tooth. The milky pink really worked well over this, like half a jelly sandwich.
You can tell the difference between the two layering methods in this picture.

The texture of the glitter didn't bother me, so I decided to forgo topcoat.
Yeah, that was a mistake. I don't recall what I did, but three fingers on each hand got crunched up within an hour, and I didn't notice them, so they had dried enough that I couldn't flatten them, so off it came. Sad. (But I replaced it with Zoya Blaze, so not so sad after all!)

So, thank you Jo for inspiring us, leading us through this challenge. It has been fun to do and more importantly, fun to read what the others have been doing!

Camouflage nails

Well, the art that I had in mind over the previous mani fell through, I can't find my A. England Dragon, and the OPI DS Classic didn't stamp as well as I had hoped, so I ended up putting Darling Diva Chandelle on the A Taupe The Space Needle. I like it a lot!
You can also see a difference in the ring and middle finger. I ended up removing the polish from those after a couple failed stamping attempts, so I just put on some DS Classic, a single coat of Chandelle, then a coat of Gelous, and then Seche Vite.

It is really wearing well, too! I did this last Friday night, 3/1/13, and it still looks pretty good today, 3/5/13. The only place that doesn't is on my right thumb where I jammed it into a monitor holder at work. Ouch! That had actual nail damage, not just polish wear.

But I am bored, and it is Try It On Tuesday, so this will be coming off, soon.

Do you participate in any regularly scheduled posts/prompts? Can you recommend any?

Adios!

Flip Flop February-Day 6

In a pretty bad mood right now, I think I need to buy a car and that is NOT exciting.
That would pretty much eliminate any fun money, and a voluntary low/no buy is OK, but a needed one? No.

So what were our options today?
Fan Brush and Glitterbomb!
I don't own a Fan Brush (although I think I will buy one before the Day 25 challenge, I have found a cool You Tube Tutorial that requires one) so I obviously chose Glitterbomb!

This was so much fun, but I have to confess, it was made more fun by the fact that it was removed before it had time to set up.
Yep, just scraped it all off with an orange stick.
No way I wanted to deal with the acetone bath, my VD skipped a workout that day.

This is Butter London's Rosie Lee!
Super duper sparky!
I got Rosie Lee in a three pack that also included Fairy Cake and The Black Knight-which was my number one lemming!
I am very happy with the wear on the BLs (that I have worn longer than it took to take a picture), the only problems I have had are where I have a weakness in my nail-such as my right forefinger.
I have been using Nailtique Formula 2, and that has improved the nail but not eliminated the problem altogether.

Anyway! Sparkly Pink Goodness!
Wonder what the others have put on?

Adios!
